To begin optimizing your video you will need to be logged into your TubeSpanner account.  You can access the TubeSpanner tools under the Beta Tools dropdown menu at app.tubespanner.com/dashboard (left hand menu)or by going to the Video Details page in your YouTube Studio Dashboard and selecting the Homerun option from your TubeSpanner tab menu:

TubeSpanner’s Homerun tool provides you with three options for maximizing your video SEO. These are the Discovery Optimiser, Search Explorer and Homerun. You can enter your video title into each of these tools to see different insights into the SEO aspects of each.

  1. Discovery Optimiser 
    Entering your title into the Discovery Optimiser will give information regarding how well the title is going to be read and understood by the viewer.  This measures the value of a the grammar, titling structure, clarity and compelling elements for your title.

  2. Search Explorer
    Entering your title into the Search Explorer tool will give you insight into how well it compares to the videos it will be competing against based on the quality of the keywords that you are targeting, the amount of viewers searching for this topic and the amount of competition it will be facing.


  3. Homerun
    Entering your title and/or primary keywords into the Homerun tool will give you an analysis of the best performing videos that have targeted that phrase to date.  This will give you insight into the videos you will be competing against as well as a glimpse into the style of thumbnail presentation they are using.


Remember that the real value of SEO isn’t in the added exposure you may get when you first publish a video… rather the implementation of of SEO allows your video to live a second life as a Searchable piece of content for people who are looking for exactly the video you made.  Compiled over the course of your entire library implementing good SEO practices can create a foundation of evergreen views for videos that would otherwise have popped and then died off.
