When a viewer takes the time to jump down past your video and leave you a comment it counts as engagement, which is one of the metrics YouTube looks at when determining how valuable a video is to share out. Also though this is an opportunity for you to connect with that viewer, making them a stronger, more viable person to return for future videos. And the best way to accomplish this is by engaging with deeper, more fleshed out responses.
Because of this and because it can be difficult writing out thousands of replies to these comments TubeSpanner has created a series of tools to help you not only respond faster but with more detailed, engaging responses.
For this you simply need to select your Community tab from the YouTube Studio Dashboard to access the comments for your channel:
When answering these comments you will be provided with several simple response actions. Be sure to select the “On” option for the Comment Magic at the top of the comment list to activate these options…
Auto will provide an automatically generated response based on the most common responses to similar comments on YouTube
Insert Video gives you the opportunity to select a video link to include in your response
Emoji provides a menu of emojis that you can use to give your response some extra flavor and emotionUnderneath every comment YouTube provides you with an options to reply, they show you the numbers of replies this comment has and they give you the ability to give it a thumbs up, a thumbs down and/or a hearted response. Next to this will be a TubeSpanner “Purple Wrench” icon. Click on this to open a toolbox menu with a variety of detailed, “quick-response” options for your response:
These are general responses that can be used for a variety of purposes, but sometimes you may want to give a more personalized response. Or maybe you want to have a few responses with included links ready to go. For this TubeSpanner has provided the ability to create, manage and populate Custom Replies. To create custom replies select the Settings wheel from the Comment Magic ticket at the top of your Comments:
This will open the Advanced comment settings menu, where you can toggle the Sentiment AI options. If you click on Your custom replies you will be taken to the smart replies editing page.
On this page you can manage and edit your pre-existing Smart replies or create new ones. To do so select Add Custom Reply from the button at the top-right of this menu.Here you will be provided with a menu to fill out the different options for your custom reply.
Title will be used to help sort multiple responses so you can find them later without having to read the full text of the response. This can be handy if you intend to write longer, more engaging responses that may include links.
Sentiment Type will add another layer of organization. You can select the mood or sentiment for this response so that you can select a future response based on the sentiment of the comment you received.
Question text helps to determine what kind of comment this response needs to be catered to. You provide some keywords that a commenter may use so that TubeSpanner will know the best circumstance to recommend this response.
Reply text is the actual response that will be populated in the reply field of the comment.
